The Hood County News Internet Service (HCN) provides Mail on the Web in order for users to be able to check their mail from any computer. Using a browser, connect to  webmail.hcnews.net. Be sure and use your full email address when logging in.

There are some great improvements in the latest version. To name a couple, you now have the ability to import or export your contacts to and from your e-mail client such as Outlook Express. It is also compatible with browsers such as Firefox and Apple Safari. On top of that, it is faster and easier to use!

Although we are excited to offer this new webmail system, we would like to point out that it isn't designed to take place of a full e-mail client such as Outlook Express. There is no way to backup your e-mails and you are only allowed to keep up to 15 MBs worth of e-mails in your webmail. Messages that you want to keep should be downloaded onto your hard drive through an e-mail client such as Outlook Express, otherwise they will be deleted from the server after 45 days.

What webmail is designed for is a way for you to check your e-mail when you are away from your home computer. If you are on vacation and you have access to a computer then you can still send and receive your e-mail through our webmail system. Please go to http://webmail.hcnews.com to get started.
