Settings
Settings including control for mail
forwarding, anti-virus, anti-spam, vacation notification, display and other
options may be set by clicking on the Settings link at the top of the
screen.

Note: Settings with a lock icon
cannot be changed at this time.

General Settings.
Mail may be automatically forwarded to another email address by entering the
address in the Forward mail to: box. Once the address is entered, click on
Save to store the changes.

Auto Reply
The Auto Reply settings allow a user to create an auto-reply message. This is
often used to inform senders that the user will be away on vacation for a
period of time. To enable this feature click on the box to the left of
Enable Auto-Reply.
Enter the message you want the original
sender to receive
in the Message box. An example would be: "User will be away from the
computer for the next 2 weeks and will respond to email upon return."
Click on Save to store changes.
To disable the vacation feature, uncheck the
Enable Auto-Reply box.

Anti-Virus
The Anti-Virus settings allow the user to control how virus-infected
messages are managed. By default, virus-infected messages are deleted
immediately.
The Anti-Virus level should be left at
Normal.
If a user does not want to be notified that
the mail system has blocked a potentially harmful message, they may uncheck
the Recipients receive notification. When the Sender receives notification
box is checked, the sender receives a notice from HCN that they sent a
message containing a virus.
Click on Save to store changes.

Anti-Spam
The Anti-Spam settings allow the user to control how messages marked as
containing spam are managed. By default, messages marked as spam are
quarantined. Users may see the messages by clicking on the quarantine
folder. Click here for more information about the
Quarantine folder.
Messages may be sent directly to the user's
inbox by selecting Tag and let message through. The message will arrive in
the user's mailbox with (Spam) added to the subject line.
Messages may be deleted and never arrive in
the user's inbox or quarantine folder by selecting Delete message
immediately.
The level of Spam filtering may be set for
each area (Hoax, Adult, Patterns, Goods, Health and Money). The levels are
Disabled, Normal, Strong or Extreme. The default is Extreme.
Click on Save to store changes.

Reporting
The Reporting menu allows you to disable the Spam Report or change
the frequency that it is sent to your mailbox. To disable the report, place
a check in the "Override my domain defaults" box and then uncheck the
"Generate reports ever X Days" box. If you want to change the frequency, leave the box checked and
select how often you wish to receive the report.
Remember that messages are only saved in the quarantine folder for 3 days.
After that, they will automatically be deleted.

Blacklist
The Blacklist setting allows you to view and add senders to your blacklist
.The blacklist is a list of senders from whom you never want to receive
mail. Once added to your blacklist, the sender will always be blocked for
spam. You have the option of deleting the message immediately, blocking the
message to quarantine or tagging the message as spam and letting the message
through. Most users select the Delete message immediately option. To add a
sender to your blacklist, enter the email address in the
E-mail field and click on Add.

Whitelist
The Whitelist setting allows you see and add senders to your whitelist. The
whitelist is a list of senders from whom you always want to receive mail.
Once added to your whitelist, the sender will not be blocked for spam and
will automatically go to your inbox. To add a sender to your whitelist,
enter the e-mail address and click on Add.

Preferences
The Preferences screen allows you to control general settings such as time
zone, how many e-mails are shown per page, etc.
The Reply
format can be HTML or Text and when replying to messages the original
message can be preceded by the ">" character or no character.
The user's name, a different reply to address
and a signature can also be added from this window.
Click on Save to store the new
settings.

External Accounts
The External Accounts settings allow the user to check mail on other servers
or other accounts on the HCN system. Enter a name for the account, the
server (mail.yahoo.com, for example), the login and the password.
Click on Save account to store the new
settings.
Once the external account is saved, the
account and its associated Inbox will appear on the left hand side of the
window below the folders associated with your main account.
